7 Tips To Increase Your Twitter Follower Count

How To Increase Followers On Twitter

  1. Limit tweets some where between 10 to 15 a day. Write tweets that are interesting and not just promotion for your site. Too many tweets just promoting your site and you will begin to look like spam.
  2. Sign up for a free account at Social Oomph. From here you can schedule tweets in advance, follow those who follow you and unfollow those who unfollow you automatically.
  3. Add your twitter username to Twibes. I am apart of Christian Twibes.
  4. Help the little guy. Who is a little guy? To me they are bloggers who write interesting posts but because they haven’t written a best seller for Thomas Nelson nobody knows about their site. ReTweet the little guy’s blog posts.
  5. Use hash tags when tweeting. A what? I would describe a hash tag to be like a category (or a tag) that goes at the end of your tweet. Example: “I just saw @pwilson at Barnes & Noble reading Twilight. #book.” The number sign is the hash and book is the tag.
  6. Interact with other twitts. If they say something interesting reply to them.
  7. Follow Twitter Whales. Twitter Whales are those twitts who have more than 10,000 followers. If their follow count is close to their follower count then more than likely they will follow you back. Follow them, give them a few days to follow back and if they don’t then just unfollow them. How do you know if they are following you? You can find out at Friend or Follow.
